IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOSE UP TO TEN POUNDS of FAT in a MONTH

Hi friends my name is Jesse and welcome to the Fresno Fitness Boot Camps site.

Before I tell you about Fresno Fitness Boot Camps, the workouts and why you should join I need to give you a little history about myself and how this boot camp got started.

About ten years ago, while on a hiatus from my job as a paramedic, I worked at a local gym. It was a franchise gym and was well established.

This gym was barely making ends meet, meaning they were just able to pay the rent. The rent was extremely high for the property, and location, and for the number of members the gym had. I was oblivious to the gym’s financial position. I was there to build a personal training clientele and get in to this industry that I was drawn towards.

The corporation sent in a “consultant” to evaluate the gym and how it operated. This man had been in the gym industry close to thirty years. He had turned around several gyms or so the rumor went.

Our job was sales

Within a few days our franchise consultant called a gym meeting and he told us what we were doing wrong. Our job was sales. He went on to say less than 5% of gym members actually use the gym. Yes, we’ll keep the place clean. We’ll greet them when they show up but that’s it. Most of our attention and efforts will be to attract and get prospective members to sign up for a gym membership.

“It’s a number thing” he stated. That was the message.

I didn’t know what to think. I was naive for sure. He wasn’t suggesting that we don’t care if someone gets results after joining our gym was he?

Yes he was.

As if this wasn’t bad enough while working at this very popular gym I had to endure the bodybuilding scene. Now I’m not knocking or bagging on bodybuilding but I’m not in to it as a sport and I never have been. I’ve always played sports and have considered myself an athlete.

Often I would watch from the front counter as several personal trainers, or body builders, put their clients through workouts I would often wonder, “why is that gal or guy paying for that guys services?” They look the same every single workout week after week. I would rarely see sweat from this one personal trainers clients. I would see them hug and talk a lot but not a lot of work being done.

All his clients looked the same from workout to workout.

Now I can’t say for sure if they were paying him to say they were exercising because they were in the gym and they did pick up an occasional dumbbell and push an occasional machine while they were there, but frequently their trainer stood by flexing in the mirror when he could get a minute, which was often.

Were his clients paying for results?

Now having worked in a gym for a while and having worked in the industry for some time now I can honestly say that most people, when they go to exercise, have no idea where to begin. Some do. Most don’t.

I saw a need to educate, encourage and motivate people to exercise and feel better about themselves.

I knew that people didn’t really want to exercise. Heck, even Jack LaLane, the first fitness guru ever, admitted he didn’t really like to exercise. “What I love is the results. That is why I exercise” he was quoted as saying.

There it was. The magic two words “The Results’.

I can’t blame you. If I were exercising and not seeing the results that I expect I probably wouldn’t exercise either.

Well I wish I could tell you that losing fat is easy. The fact is this, and I don’t know who said it first, "when you discover how hard it is to lose fat, it then becomes easy".

That is the why I started Fresno Fitness Boot Camps. When I got out of the US Army I always wondered why people here, in the Valley, exercised indoors. It gets cold here for sure, or at least to us it does, but it doesn’t snow. It’s rarely blistering cold.

If you’ve been going to a gym, running, doing your aerobic video’s and trying to lose weight on your own I couldn’t blame you for not being motivated. Doing it alone is tough. Trying to lose fat by yourself isn’t impossible. People do it all the time. You've probably done it before but this time, or maybe the last time, something was different. It didn't come off like it did before.

You have some choices to make. You can continue to go it alone and if your making progress I applaud you. Keep doing whatever it is your doing IF its working and getting you closer to your goal. If its not. I'm certain I can help.

You could join a gym and you'll probably go a few times but eventually stop going because nothing happens when you don't show up.

You could hire a personal trainer and that should set you back about $400-$500 for a month maybe two if your lucky.

OR you could join Fresno Fitness Boot Camps, get outside, lose fat, have fun and be completely ready for the warm, or hot, weather before you know it.

You can show up, go through a workout, and watch the fat melt off you body?

It’s actually really simple but people make it difficult.

I’ve always been the athletic type. I play, and play hard. Yes, I’m competitive. Probably like you if you’re at this site. But, when I stopped doing the personal training thing it still bothered me when I would see some someone working on their arms, usually men, sitting in the “sit up” machine because they think if they do a lot of repetitions on this machine that their stomach fat will disappear.

I know what you’re probably saying, “people know by now that you can’t spot reduce”. Really?!?! Then why is it when you go to a gym you’ll see people still doing countless repetitions for their abs and often ignore the rest of their bodies?

I don’t want to go on a rant but the fact of the matter is that most people don’t need a $50- per hour personal trainer to count repetitions for them.

You need structure.

You need accountability and motivation.

We’re here for you when your ready.

When your ready to have some fun, exercise and meet like minded people like yourself then I hope you’ll join us at the next session.

See you outside.
